Five Finalists Compete for the Grand Prize in Clay Hill Farm’s Green Wedding Giveaway 2010

More than a hundred couples from all over the world entered Clay Hill Farm’s second annual Green Wedding Giveaway contest, hoping to win a complete green summer wedding at Clay Hill Farm in York, Maine, and a nine-night, dual-island Caribbean honeymoon package arranged by Travel Experts of York. The competition was fierce this year, but the independent panel of judges chose the five contestants they felt best creatively explored the parallel between a commitment to each other and a commitment to the earth.

The five finalists were announced Sunday, January 10th at the Foster’s Bridal Show in Portsmouth, NH, and began a month-long campaign to secure the highest number of public votes, while spreading Clay Hill Farm’s message of green connectedness. The five finalists in Green Wedding Giveaway® 2010 are: Sean Patch & Debi Pian from NYC, Kevin Hanley & Lisa Sabella of Durham, NH, Dan Hansche & Annika Wisswaesser of Kittery, ME, James Gouin & Elizabeth Beaudoin of Derry, NH and Richard Wood & Tara Hartnett of Whitefield, NH.
While the submission phase of this unique contest challenged couples’ creativity and explored their unique shade of green, the voting phase will challenge the finalists’ resourcefulness. For the next four weeks, the five finalist couples will campaign for public votes with creative PR strategies. Voting is done online through the official Green Wedding Giveaway® 2010 website, www.greenweddinggiveaway.com. The Grand Prize winner will be announced on February 10th, just before Valentine’s Day. An all-inclusive wedding on Sunday, July 11th , 2010 at Clay Hill Farm will be planned for the couple with the most votes. The Grand Prize will also include five nights at Curtain Bluff Resort in Antigua and four nights at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, both Virtuoso Green Globe certified properties. The couple with the second highest public vote count will be awarded a seven-night, all-inclusive honeymoon package at Zoetry Agua Resort in Punta Cana. This year’s contest hit $50K in prizes.
